The history of First Parish is closely intertwined with the history of the town of Medfield and the town’s historic Meeting House.

First Parish dates back to the beginning of the town. The history of the congregation is a history of the townspeople, of the Massachusetts Bay colony, and of the evolution of religion over the past 350+ years.

William Tilden’s History of the Town of Medfield 1650-1886 and Richard DeSorgher’s History of the Town of Medfield 1887-1925 have been published by the Medfield Historical Society and are available at the Medfield Public Library.

Our Meeting House, built in 1789, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to the maintenance and preservation of the town’s historic Meeting House (“First Parish Building Fund”; First Parish UU, 26 North Street, Medfield, MA 02052).

Thank you for your support!
